Born and raised in a Caribbean family, designer Stephanie Hall grew up on a small hill on the outskirts of Montego Bay, Jamaica. She received most of her primary and secondary education in Kingston, Jamaica. After graduation, she relocated to the United States, where she currently attends the Interior Architecture and Design program at Florida State University. For Stephanie, the saying rings true "You can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the girl". Stephanie infuses not only her Jamaican roots into some of her designs, but also other cultures and styles she has come across in her time abroad.
Being the first person in her immediate family to attend a four year college program she was under immense pressure to graduate with a degree that would be worth the money and effort. So she thought to herself, “Doctor? Lawyer? Business Woman?” but none of these really suited her. Stephanie has always been a free spirited person, but at the same time she is organized and meticulous. She describes her daily life as a constant battle between left brain and right brain. That was, of course, until she was introduced to interior design and her life began to feel balanced. Stephanie found a career that allowed her to use both her strategic and creative sides to express herself. She found a passion that defeated the left brain versus right brain battle. But most importantly, she found a profession that would give her pure joy for the rest of her life.
